Christmas Eve Big Feast 2009           

On December 24, 2009, Change Corps volunteers helped participate in the Citywide Club's 31st Annual Christmas Eve Feast. This is a tremendous celebration that offers Houstonians in need the chance to enjoy a delicious holiday meal. Remembering that those in need aren't always adults, this event is set-up with children and families in mind. In addition to the meal, attendees are able to browse through various stations. There are donated clothing items for men, women and children that attendees are able to shop through. There is also a toy station which gives out new, donated toys to the children in attendance, as well as brand new bicycles for lucky winners. Finally, there is a food basket area where attendees are able to receive prepackaged grocery bags with a variety of food items and some families were lucky enough to be given whole, frozen turkeys. It's important for those of us who are able to give back to our communities and remember that the holidays are a joyous time for many, but for many others it is a time of year that just highlights how little they have. Change Corps Houston is proud to be a yearly participant at the Citywide Club's Christmas Eve Feast.
