Habitat for Humanity Wall-Build, April 5, 2008           

Obama Volunteer Corps participated in our first major event with Houston Habitat for Humanity. Our team gathered together in the early morning hours on a Saturday to learn from the talented Habitat staff how to construction walls for future Habitat homes. Although our construction skills were a little rusty to start with the help of the staff and the enthusiasm of our team we were on the fast-track to finishing a home ahead of schedule. It was a great experience at the end of the day to see the components that will eventually become someone's home.
